1. Breathe Like a Balloon
What You’ll Need: Just your breath!
How to Do It:
- Have your child sit comfortably with their hands on their belly.
- Ask them to take a deep breath in through their nose, imagining they’re inflating a balloon in their tummy.
- Hold the breath for a few seconds.
- Then, slowly exhale through their mouth like letting air out of the balloon.
- Repeat this a few times, encouraging them to visualize the balloon inflating and deflating.
2. Mindful Walking
What You’ll Need: An open space (inside or outside).
How to Do It:
- Take a short walk with your child, either in a park or around your home.
- Encourage them to pay attention to how their feet feel with each step.
- Ask them to notice the sounds around them, such as birds chirping or leaves rustling, and the colors they see along the way.
- This helps children connect with their environment and stay in the moment.
3. Five Senses Exercise
What You’ll Need: A quiet space and a few items to engage with (like a piece of fruit or a toy).
How to Do It:
- Sit down with your child and ask them to find something nearby.
- Then, guide them through their senses:
- Sight: What do they see?
- Sound: What can they hear?
- Touch: How does it feel?
